Riley's Godparents

Riley is one lucky baby, with two amazing Godparents-to-be!  Matt and I think that my brother John and sister Libby are going to be great rolemodels for the little guy.  We asked them to be Riley's Godparents during Thanksgiving dinner, and they both happily accepted the invitation!

JCP Baby Shower

My JCPenney coworkers threw us a phenomenal baby shower last week.  I'm so glad that Matt and my Mom were able to join us!  Every detail was so thoughtful, and we got lots of generous gifts for Baby Riley! I am really lucky to work with such a wonderful group of people.

Surgery Update...

We were on our way for Matt's surgery this morning when his doctor's assistant called to tell us that Dr. Gilmore is extremely sick, and is cancelling all of his surgeries for the day.  We'll keep you posted on the rescheduled date.

Matt's Surgery

Matt is having sinus surgery tomorrow to correct a deviated septum and to fix an "issue" that's been causing the SIX sinus infections he's had this year.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!

Shower Weekend (Saturday)

Saturday was the day of the shower. My mom and Vicki McPherson hosted it at Glen Eagles Country Club.  It was a gorgeous venue, and fun to revisit since we also had our Rehearsal Dinner there almost 5 years ago!

The place settings were so beautiful. My mom did a great job picking out the table linens and flowers. Notice the napkins are folded like diapers and pinned closed with a diaper pin... she is so creative!!

Vicki ensured that we had the fabulous chocolate and raspberry cake... look how beautiful the cake table was! It was hands-down the best cake I've ever tasted.

My mom wrote me a very special poem, and read it at the beginning of the shower. It was so thoughtful and touching... I had no idea she was such a talented poet.

I had the best day visiting with my favorite people, and unwrapping so many generous gifts for Baby Riley.  He is already a very spoiled little boy!! Thank you so much everyone, for everything!! Also - thank you so much to our family and friends from out-of-town who couldn't be there... you were all there in spirit.

Shower Weekend (Friday)

Riley's baby shower with our closest family & friends was last weekend. We had three special visitors in town.  Aunt Mary visited from Michigan, Katie (my cousin) also came from Michigan, and one of my closest friends (from VT) Meredith came from Maryland. 

Friday, we had a fun "girls afternoon" at the nail salon with manicures & pedicures:

We had a delicious dinner at Artin's on Friday night with my family.  Libby gave me my shower gift early, a gorgeous Petunia Pickle Bottom Diaper bag!  Here we are trying out the bag... I am going to be one stylin' mom!

The night wouldn't be complete without a few belly pics (25 1/2 weeks).  Look at the beautiful flowers in the background from my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws to wish me a "happy shower weekend"!  They got me pink roses, they know me too well... it was so sweet of them, and they made my day!  We also had to take some pictures of Katie's bump.. she was 18 weeks along at the time!!
