Finger ..er... Table Painting

Riley did a little art project at school this week. He did a fabulous job, although I think more paint got on the table, chair, his clothes, his hands...etc. He had a ball!

The masterpiece begins... he's having a hard time focusing with Miller flashing him in the background ;)

The paper gets thrown on the floor

Miss Stephanie picks it up to give him another shot, but I think the table is the preferred canvas

What fun!

Fun times on the buggy!!

When Riley gets in the buggy, he is one happy boy!!

GNO & BNI

I had a "girls night out" with a few of my girlfriends last week, so Riley and Daddy had a "boys night in".  It was so nice to be able to get out, drink some fruity cocktails, and catch up with my friends! We are hoping to do this once a month, and I know that we are all looking forward to the next one.

Uncle Sean & Jess's Visit

Uncle Sean and Jess came to visit the day after we got home from the beach... the fun never stops around here! We had a fun weekend with both of them, and can't wait for their next visit.

Bouncing on Uncle Sean's knee

We went shopping at a great store that serves beer... Riley found it delicious

This store sold 66" belts... probably could have used this during my pregnancy

Time for a snack

Riley looks so tiny next to Sean!

We took a trip to Dallas on Sunday to visit Uncle John as well.  Riley sits up on his own now, and liked checking out the view from John's couch.  We had a yummy lunch at Sushi Zushi, and then dropped Sean & Jess at the airport. Such a fun weekend!

Happy Half-Birthday To Riley!

The family wanted to throw Riley a half-birthday party while we were at the beach. They got a cake and everything! Riley was looking at everyone while we sang "Happy Birthday" and then broke into tears once everyone started clapping.  His cousins wondered why he wasn't able to eat any cake, but we told them that he could next year... he's still working on his fruits and vegetables.

Happy half-birthday to you!

Happy half-birthday to you!

 Happy half-birrrrthday to Riley!

Happy half-birthday toooo youuuu!

YAYYYYYY!

Help me Mama! :)

Beach time!

We had absolutely beautiful weather at the beach. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the sunshine!

The amazing canopy.. that only lasted until the wind picked up! Second canopy picture to come...

Pretty sunny out here...

And a little hot!

Solution #1 = shades!

Solution #2 - the crab pool with ocean water

We enjoyed walks on the beach at night.  Riley got the best seat in the house!

Hi Bec!!

The beach from the porch - this is the life!

My boys :)

Got a little dark by the time I took over

Canopy #2 with the love birds... didn't realize it was so small until we got it up! HA!

Hmmmm....

Fun with my cousins, Aunts, and Grandparents at the beach!

We were lucky enough to take a trip to the Outer Banks (Nags Head) in North Carolina to visit the Weismann Family.  We actually stayed in the same duplex that Matt & his family have visited since he was born, so that made it extra nostalgic.  Riley was able to meet his Aunts and his 4 cousins, and spent lots of quality time with Nana and Pop Pop.  They hadn't seen him since he was 2 weeks old... he has changed quite a bit!! The little guy got LOTS of attention from his cousins, and loved every second of it.

Riley sitting on Nana's lap, one of his favorite places to be.

All the little monkeys got to play in Nana and Pop Pop's bed!

Matt and his siblings have a picture from their childhood on these very same stairs!  Matt used to be the little guy on the bottom step :)

Playing with his cousins, so sweet

Bouncing... what he does best!

Everyone went to the Christmas Shop one day, which is another fun Weismann Family tradition.  All of the kids got to pick out an ornament from Nana and Pop Pop, and Riley loved looking at all of the bright lights & decorations.  I let Matt take Riley on this little venture, and I got a few hours on the beach by myself... absolutely wonderful! :)

First Antibiotic Disasters

Riley was put on his first antibiotic a few weeks ago for a never-ending cough that entered his lungs.  The strong meds upset his little tummy, and resulted in a few humiliating experiences that I just have to share!

#1). The daycare was closing a few minutes early one day, and I decided to bring Riley upstairs to visit my coworkers.  I was taking him out of the stroller, and noticed that his entire back was a poopy MESS! My coworkers were asking to hold him, and I advised him that it probably was NOT the best idea. Of course, I didn't have my usual diaper bag with extra clothes, new wipes, diapers...etc. Instead, I had some dried up wipes, a few tissues, and a newborn diaper.  I sprawled the dirty kid out on my desk in my cube and tried to remove the disgusting clothes over his head, and wiped him with some tissues... strapped on the WAY-TOO-SMALL diaper, and put a half naked baby back in the stroller to head home (not before he spit up all over a coworker of mine).  Everyone was staring at me as I walked through the JCP corporate building, like "don't you dress your kid?!".

#2). We were racing out the door to head to the airport last week en route to the Outer Banks (pics to come from the beach).  My dad was driving us to the airport, so I sat in the back seat with Riley.  I noticed his face grimacing like he was going potty, and the next thing I knew there was a major poop coming down his leg in the carseat.  Then, he decides to start kicking his legs as hard as he can.  I yelled that we had to pull over immediately! We pulled over on the side of the highway, Matt wiped the carseat with baby wipes, I undressed Riley on the grass while cars go whizzing by at 80mph, we got him cleaned up, put a new outfit on, and we were back in business.  I've turned into a pro at these last minute disastrous changes!! Let's just say that I am glad the antibiotics are now out of Riley's system!!
