Rounding Out November

I took a small "blog hiatus" during the latter half of my maternity leave.  I soaked up all of the extra quality time with the kiddos, and not to mention I no longer had access to my work computer... regardless, I am now back at work and back at it!
The end of November was a busy time for the Weismann family with lots of parties, showers, birthdays, and visitors.

The first event was Katie McDonnell's bridal shower. It was fun spending some girl time with my daughter, mom, and sis.  The fact that it was at a wine room was the icing on the cake! Katie is going to make a beautiful bride in 2014.

We spent the following day at Riley's friend Emery's 3rd birthday party, and then went directly to Uncle Johnny's birthday celebration. Riley likes getting right in on the present and cake action!

I've really enjoyed my weekdays with Riley and Sami, especially when we scheduled playdates with my girlfriends!  We spent the following day at the Rachavong's house.  Hayley planned activities, crafts, and let the kids decorate cupcakes after lunch.

Uncle Johnny took the day off that Thursday, and took Riley on a special trip to the Frisco Fire Station. It's an outing that he will never forget!

Nana and Pop Pop paid us a visit that weekend to meet their new granddaughter and spend time with the rest of us.  As usual, the boys stayed busy doing "projects" around the house and running back and forth from Home Depot.  Riley got to tag along... he never misses a trip to see the equipment at Home Depot! We had a nice time visiting with Nana and Pop Pop!

We also celebrated the upcoming birth of baby Cameron Hays, and I helped throw Crystal a shower with a few other girls. I must say, my mom did an amazing job with the flowers! We can't wait for Cameron's arrival in a few short weeks!

THEN... it was time for Thanksgiving at Gigi and Grandpa's house!! We had a wonderful day filled with yummy food and family time!

We closed out the month of November, and were thankful for all of the time we got to spend with family and friends.  Now it's time to gear up for Christmas! Here are a few more random November pics to close out the longest post in history :)

Busy days!

Our two little munchkins have been keeping us busy these days.  Riley has really taken his role as a big brother seriously, and is always wanting to help with his sister. He is going to school three days a week now, and stays home with Samantha and me twice a week. He loves holding his sister, helping with the laundry, and making dinner (not kidding!). We have had fun with play dates and spending time together. This maternity leave is flying by!!

Being a goof, as always!

My parents sent me a picture of them at a nice dinner in Fort Worth with Libby, so I took this one of my dinner view. Can't beat it! Ha!

Our little diva, rawr!

I love that they will always have someone to play with!

We had Lila and Sawyer over for a play date last week. Riley had a great time with his friends, and I always love catching up with my girls.  Lila will be a big sister in January, and she was so good with Baby Samantha.

Both kiddos were very good at holding her, and she loved all of the attention!

Lib was in town last weekend for the first time since Sami was born, and she got some QT with her niece

The 2013 Halloween Extravaganza

Halloween has turned into a week long extravaganza, and we didn't miss a single chance to participate in the celebration.

We kicked off the Halloween week with "Trunk or Treat" at Riley's school.  Families decorated their cars and the children "trunk or treated" from car to car in the school parking lot.  There were lots of fun activities too, and Riley enjoyed painting a pumpkin, bouncing in the bounce house, and having cookies and cider.  It was a beautiful night to mingle with the Primrose kids, parents, and teachers!

Miss Sami was all decked out in her Halloween attire for the occasion too.

First stop... bounce house of course!

Ready... set... trunk or treat!

He got the hang of it pretty quickly

Next stop, the pumpkin painting table

We headed home where Toby and GiGi helped Riley sort through his loot. Trunk or treat was a success!

Two days later we had the annual Halloween party in my parents neighborhood. We are always up to party, so we were there to enjoy the festivities... especially since GiGi plans the party every year.

After a bite or two of pizza he was off to play! His favorite game had to be the donut eating contest.

Socializing with GiGi

I got to apply a few tattoos.. especially since he wanted them on his palm and they kept rubbing off!

He got to paint ANOTHER pumpkin too... getting to be a pro at that. This time there was glitter!!

Samantha also socialized with GiGi. See the little pumpkin head in GiGi's arms? My Aunt Barbara knitted her the hat, and it was perfect for the occasion!

Then it was Halloween Day!! We all headed to Riley's school for a parade in the school parking lot and a class party.  His class dressed as chef's... look at our little orange chef with his hair net... absolutely hilarious.

We headed into the classroom and enjoyed some treats with the other parents and Riley's friends.

We rushed home and got ready for the real deal... the neighborhood Halloween parade with a firetruck and pirate ship!  Emery, who lives across the street, and Riley wanted to go together... look how cute they are!

Emery and Riley got the best seat in the house, and Daddy was a good sport to pull the wagon.

After lots of trick or treating this little guy was on an all time sugar high!

Happy Halloween to all, and to all a good night!!
