August

August has come and almost gone, so it's time for an update! GiGi and Grandpa have made the BIG move to their gorgeous new home, and we've stayed busy with work, school, friends, and two active kiddos!

Matt started a new job this month at Splunk! He has done more traveling and working later hours, but he absolutely loves what he is doing. We are so happy that he is enjoying his work! Splunk had an end of summer party, and Riley loved running around Daddy's office with a snow cone in hand!

The first time in the double Costco cart together. I think they were thrilled, and we were in the wine section so Mommy & Daddy were happy campers too :) 

First stop at GiGi and Grandpa's new house was their hot tub. The lake scene makes you feel like you're sitting on the dock of the bay!

Sweet Sami Rose continues to LOVE food! She is such a good little eater, and I only hope it continues!

Sami has also become VERY active! She busted her eye at splash day recently, but still looks cute as can be.

She also loves painting at school, and is very serious about her works of art.

It has been in the hundreds outside, but it didn't keep us from playing outside. 

Sami sat in front of the fan after one such day, and loved the cool breeze!

After all, Riley had to mow!

These two are best buds these days! Sami keeps up pretty well with her brother, and he is good about including her in his fun activities!

Riley was creatively using a bubble blower to "dry sami's hair".  Their imaginations crack me up these days!

Riley loves fixing things, so he sat with Grandpa in his new garage and helped hammer nails. Shortly after this visit a hammer fell on Grandpa's head and he landed in the ER with 4 staples in his head... but luckily he is fine!

 

This month, I also helped host a baby shower for my good friend Hayley.

Everything came together beautifully

I am so excited for Hayley to have another Rachavong boy!

Sami joined GiGi and me for the festivities, and partied through her nap! 

I'm so glad I had my mom there to help keep her entertained! She is a lifesaver!

My good friend Crystal was so gracious to let us use her house for the shower.  She's such a great friend.

Sami and Cami can't wait to play with baby Colby Lawson!

Aunty Mere's Visit!

Mere came to visit this month! We were so excited to see her because we realized that it had been almost 3 years since her last visit! Mere and I started the visit with brunch at a local cafe where we sat, ate, drank coffee and talked for 2 hours.  Then we went to the salon for some pampering before we picked up the kiddos, and it was heavenly!  

We got the kids from daycare, and came home so that she could give them gifts! She got Sami a Redskins cheerleader dress, and she will proudly sport it this football season.  

She got Riley a firetruck Play-Doh set. 

He immediately changed into his fireman costume so that he could play in character!

The following day was mowing day... both of my boys were outside working hard.... in matching outfits :) 

Then we all headed to the pool to cool down!

 We recently redid our patio and got new patio furniture.  We sat outside, had some beverages, and my food hound polished off a feast!

Riley had the best time with Aunty Mere. He continues to ask about her on a daily basis, and we can't wait for her next visit. 

Somehow, I don't have a single picture of the two of us... but I had a great time with Mere too and miss her already!
