Future Chef

Riley helped me make pumpkin muffins this weekend (please ignore the picture of me without makeup after a workout... just focus on the baby!!).  He was such a big help!

Ok, he's had it!

Tummy Time

Riley loves his "tummy time".  He's able to hold himself up and play with his toys, and is thisclose to rolling over on his own. He gets 3/4 of the way over and then just lays there... he'll do it one of these days!  Here are some fun pictures of tummy time... cute blankie is handmade by my Aunt Susie, it's perfect for the activity!

Here we go...

Ooo... A toy... (and Toby supervising in the background... we're still working on explaining the difference between "baby toys" versus "dog toys"..)

Taking a quick break to watch some TV (yes, a bad habit already... I never thought I'd let my child watch TV at this age, but now that I'm in the situation I appreciate the occasional distraction that will hold his attention!  He's already a sports fan.)

All that tummy time is a lot of work, I think I'll just relax a little with my buds...

Yummy toys... (I think teething has started... he literally puts EVERYTHING in his mouth and gnaws on it!)

First Night Out!

We went to our friend, Melinda's birthday party on Saturday night and left Riley for the first time. Although he slept the entire time (and woke up just in time for us to crawl into bed... that's the worst!!), it was nice to get out for a few hours in the evening.  Thanks, Aunty Lib, for babysitting!!

Happy Mother's Day!

We had a fun-filled Mother's Day this year. It was extra special since it was my first Mother's Day, and I enjoyed every second of it. My "boys" made me breakfast in the morning (pancakes and eggs, yummm....), and then gave me a gift card for a massage! We headed down to Grandma and Grandpa's house in the afternoon for some relaxation by the pool and a delicious meal.  I got spoiled there as well with new nail polish, lotion, a picture frame for my desk, and chocolates.  Here are a few pictures of our fun day!

Riley in his swim gear

I don't know about this swimming thing, Mom...

Eek... this is chilly...

Maybe not SO chilly...

Wait a second, I think I like swimming!!

Relaxing after the swimming expeditions

Check out those swim trunks!

It's a rough life, but somebody has to live it!

Lost the trunks so I could bounce on Uncle John's knee... one of my favorite things to do!

All this activity makes me tired... going to snooze with my Aunt Libby

Only got one picture with my nifty "I Heart Mom" shirt, but I was not in the mood for pictures!

I even got to see the McDonnell Ladies!

More Bumbo Fun!

Breaking out the Bumbo

We decided to try the Bumbo last weekend, and this is the greatest invention EVER! Riley loved sitting in it and playing with toys on his play tray.  Even though he isn't able to sit up on his own, this little chair allows him to do so!  He felt like such a big boy, and we were able to eat a meal with him sitting on the counter next to us. What a treat!

Happy Easter!!

Riley had a very happy "first" Easter (which also happened to be my parents 35th wedding anniversary - Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!!). We went to Le Peep's for a delicious brunch, then it was back to my parents house to open gifts from the Easter Bunny (and boy was he good to Riley!!), and we all got a chance to relax before our big dinner feast.  What a great way to celebrate Easter!!

At brunch in his cute Easter outfit from Aunty Di

So well behaved at brunch, and definitely the hit of the restaurant!

Waking up from a nap, just in time to open presents from the Easter Bunny

The Easter Loot

And here we go....

Nifty new hat

Cool new clothes

Wow, new books too!

Uh oh... Not so sure about the walking and talking Donald Duck!

Grandma, that duck is a little frightening!

Hangin with Uncle John...

Oh Boy...

That darn duck is following me everywhere... Aunty Lib, look at this thing!!

The big feast that Grandma prepared... leg of lamb, asparagus, potatoes, carrots, and corn... mmmmmm....
