Neighborhood Party

We hosted a get-together with about 20 of our closest neighbors the other night.  We truly have some wonderful neighbors, and had a great time catching up with them.  I should have taken more pictures, but here are a few that I did catch...

Sweet Lauren feeding Riley his bottle

Riley loves when Mr. Victor picks him up because he is SO tall!

These two silly boys were flapping their plates around and giggling :)

Aunty Mere & Bryan come to visit!

One of my closest college girlfriends (and DG little sister) has been coming to Texas for a visit at least once a year since I moved out here. I am so glad that we have remained such good friends, and this year she got to meet her new “nephew” as well!  We also got the pleasure of hosting her boyfriend, Bryan, during this year’s trip.  As usual, we picked up right where we left off and had a blast. The boys did some golfing and football watching, and the girls & Riley got to chat, take walks, and relax by the pool. All in all, it was a fun weekend with lots of good company and food. I already can’t wait for next year!

We went out for some good ole Tex Mex.. delicious food on a gorgeous night

Riley got to join us, and sit up at the table with the adults.

He was such a good boy!

Getting some love from Aunty Mere... oh and go Redskins

Shocked... as usual!

We spent Sunday sipping wine and relaxing by the pool at my parents... our local vacation spot. Thanks for having us, guys!!

Riley got his exercise by the pool

You can see his two bottom teeth!

Cheers, Mere!!

With Aunty Lib... he wouldn't sit still for the picture! What else is new!

Tobes got the best seat in the house, and loves Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Thank you to Mrs. Layla Mocio for my new rubber ducky!

Riley got to take a ride on Bry's shoulders before heading to the airport

Llama in the Red Pajamas

Everyone wore their pajamas to school today and read the book "Llama in the Red Pajamas".  They even brought a real llama in for the kids to pet!  Riley loved reading the story, and seeing the llama.  I could use a pajama day too... maybe I'll suggest that at the next staff meeting. :)

Buggy Rides are my FAVORITE!

Heading outside to play with my friends Jamie & Matthew, and I can hardly contain my excitement!

Favorite "Toys"

My brother, John, likes random texted pictures of Riley, so I sent him this one last Sunday of Riley playing.  He writes me back, "is that a pot?"?  Oh, yes, Riley's favorite toys consist of pots, dixie cups, remote controls, loud snack bags, tubes of ointment, wooden spoons... you get the idea.... most of which are represented in this candid picture.  I carry a remote control, snack bag, and dixie cup in my diaper bag... pretty embaressing, but it keeps him busy!!

Side Note: As you can see, football season is in full swing. This particular Sunday Riley wore Redskin pajamas to bed, and was on his 2nd redskins onesie at this point.  Saturday is, of course, Virginia Tech Hokies day.  Riley always has to be matching Daddy in his football attire for Game Day!

Riley has learned to share...

... but not in a good way!

It was so difficult leaving our baby boy for the first time, but I kept telling myself that it was only for 2 nights and he was in excellent hands (my parents & siblings). Unfortunately, he came down with a nasty stomach virus as soon as we left and was not feeling well the entire time we were gone. My parents and siblings were a Godsend, and made him as comfortable as possible and made him smile when he didn’t feel like smiling.  We picked Riley up on Monday, and the next day I found out that both of my siblings had been getting sick the entire night! Then, my Dad came home sick from work (for the first time in about 20 years) and then my mom got it!  Matt had a stomach virus the week before we went to Vegas, so he was in the clear… and I was the last one standing… until Wednesday morning! It hit all of us…HARD!..., but I am glad to tell you that we are all better now.  Riley’s daycare friends shared the virus with him, and he shared it with the family.  We certainly had a lot of recovering to do after our trip!

Playing with pans in Grandma's kitchen.  Notice the puffy eyes.. poor little guy!

I got some cute pictures of Riley while we were away - it made me miss that little face so much!

Hayley's 30th Birthday in Vegas!

My good friend Hayley turned 30 this month, and her husband Adam never ceases to disappoint in the “gifting” department.  He surprised Hayley with a trip to Vegas, and we surprised her by coming along too… lucky us! Adam got an amazing 2 bedroom suite at the Palazzo hotel, and we spent the weekend poolside in a private cabana, eating delicious meals, going to an incredible show (Mystere – Cirque Du Soleil), gambling, and relaxing.  We always have the best time with those two, and this trip was no different.  Here are a few pics of the festivities!

Our flight was at 7:00AM Dallas time, and we arrived at 7:45AM Vegas time.  This was a long, but fun, day!

Funny guy at the pool - people watching in Vegas is the best!

How the girls spent their day... with our friend Jeff who insisted on buying all of our drinks. Rough life!
