June ~ 2015

June was full of ups, downs, and changes for our family. We started out with our fun Disney trip, and when we returned Sami Rose made a big change and started school at Primrose with Riley.  We had two birthdays, fun in the summer sun, and some medical challenges after Riley took a serious fall at a birthday party.

Sami and Riley held hands and marched into Primrose for Baby Girl's first day of school.
She loves it!!

Sami enjoyed splash days every Friday during the summer months at her new school.

Riley enjoyed one total splash day all summer due to his injury later in the month, but that single splash day was darn fun!!

We also broke in the new pool in GiGi and Grandpa's neighborhood. It's perfect for little kids with all sorts of sprayers, buckets, and fountains.

The kids also played with the kiddie pool in the back yard... they couldn't get enough water fun!

In addition to splash days, the kids enjoyed fun PJ days at school.

...and silly hair days....

... and had Daddy to school for Father's Day and ate "Donuts with Dad"

We also celebrated Gigi's birthday with cupcakes, and Daddy's birthday with a homemade cherry pie!

These two are just too cute sometimes.

Riley did lots of mowing in the backyard in June, and one morning he bumped into a wasp filled swing with his weed wacker and was swarmed & stung several times. GiGi brought him this cool doctor outfit so that he could doctor his boo boos.  Unbeknownst to us, he needed this little costume the following weekend as well!

Riley had a bad fall at a bounce house birthday party the following weekend, and broke his elbow. The break was so bad that the pediatric urgent care clinic sent us immediately to children's hospital and warned that he would probably need surgery. The bone was out of place, so the orthopedic doctor sedated him, manually reset the bone, and fitted him with a hard cast from his fingers to arm pit! The poor kid was on some pretty hefty drugs in this photo...

He was a real trooper, though.

After 4 different casts over the course of almost 6 weeks during the summer, I'm happy to say that surgery was not necessary, and he's back to his old self! Shew!

Sporting the orange cast!

Little sister tried to be gentle to her big brother , and helped keep a smile on his face. :)
