We had an amazing week in the Outer Banks, NC with my family to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. The weather was incredible, and it was so nice to go back to the place where we grew up visiting every summer. Thank you, Mom & Dad for treating us to a week of fun, sun, & family! We love you!
We started each day with a cup of coffee on the patio looking over the ocean. Riley even had his cup of "chocolate coffee" with Grandpa
After breakfast, we all hurried to get our feet in the sand & sea. We had absolutely gorgeous weather everyday (except for one), and took full advantage of our time on the beach!
Riley put GiGi to work hauling water for his sandcastles. Gotta get the cardio in somehow, right mom?
After a day on the beach, we all headed up to the pool at our house for a dip before dinner.
One of our favorite nights was GiGi's birthday celebration! We had a delicious dinner, plenty of cake, and Riley was a big help unwrapping gifts. I think it's a birthday that she won't soon forget!
Another memorable dinner is the good ole crab night. Do you think we got enough crabs??
We spent our evenings back on the front porch, listening to the ocean and enjoying the breeze. GiGi was nice enough to take Riley on a nighttime beach walk if he had enough of the sitting!
GiGi and Grandpa went out to our favorite restaurant, Roadside, one night on a date (we did one night too). Matt, Riley, and I had a little family dinner on the porch that night.
On our one crummy weather day we took a trip to Tim Buck II in Corolla where we used to go as kids and ride go-carts. Riley got to have a giant ice cream cone since he's still a little young for the go-carts. Maybe next time!
